Galaxy S26 Series

Samsung Galaxy S26 Series models and details:

Moving over to the Mobile Phones, Samsung has launched their Galaxy S26 Series as a successor to last year’s S25 Series, but they are not that impressive or have very major differences compared to the S25 Series.

Galaxy S26

Starting with the base S26, in the Galaxy S26 series, it is very similar and has close to nothing changed over the S25.

Galaxy S26 has a 6.3-inch FHD+ 120Hz AMOLED Display, it’s powered by In-house Exynos 2600, and starts off at 12/256GB (Compared to 12/128GB). Larger 4,300mAh battery over 4,000mAh of the S25, and both have 25W Wired and 15W wireless charging, which are very behind compared to Apple and Other competitors.

Camera Specs are unchanged from Galaxy S25 (Which has the camera setup of the Galaxy S22), even vivo X300, which costs barely 65k offline, has a better camera system compared to this. [50MP + 12MP UW + 10MP 3x tele]

Galaxy S26 runs OneUI 8.5 based on Android 16 out of the box, with a promise of 7 Years of OS Upgrades.

Base S26 Chipset and Market Variations

India & global markets: Exynos 2600

US, China, Japan: Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5

Galaxy S26+

S26+ is also very similar and has close to nothing changed over the S25+ of last year.

Galaxy S26 starts at ₹87,999 (12/256GB), over ₹80,999 of last year’s S25 and goes up to ₹1,07,999 for 12/512GB; that’s a huge jump for almost a similar phone. This pricing makes the iPhone 17 stand out as a better value for money, and there are Chinese competitors like X300 out there that offer more for less price.

Galaxy S26+ has a 6.7-inch 2K 120Hz AMOLED Display, with 10-bit Colour depth (compared to 8-bit on S25 Ultra). It’s powered by In-house Exynos 2600 (similar to S26) and starts at 12/256GB (Compared to 12/128GB last year). Same 4,900mAh battery as the S25+, and both have 45W Wired, but S26+ receives 20W wireless charging, compared to 15W of the S25+. Camera Specs are same as the Galaxy S26 [50MP + 12MP UW + 10MP 3x tele]

Galaxy S26+ also runs OneUI 8.5 based on Android 16 out of the box, with a promise of 7 Years of OS Upgrades.

Galaxy S26+ starts at ₹1,19,999 (12/256GB), over ₹99,999 of last year’s S25+ and goes up to ₹1,39,999; that’s a huge price for these specs.

There are downgrades in screen to body ratio in S26/S26+ compared to S25/S25+ of last year.

Galaxy S26 Ultra

Moving over to the Ultra in the Galaxy S26 series, we have little to no changes that tempt us to upgrade over last year’s S25 Ultra. It has a better main camera, faster charging and a 16GB RAM Option (1TB only).

Galaxy S26 Ultra comes with a 6.9-inch 2K M14 LTPO 120Hz Display with Gorilla Armour 2 anti-reflective front cover and Privacy display, which has made complications with the anti-reflective coating, which can be seen on last year’s S25 Ultra, also.

The anti-reflective coating on the S26 Ultra is worse compared to the S25 Ultra.
This is how the display appears with maximum protection enabled in dark mode.

Galaxy S26 Ultra shows higher outdoor brightness compared to S25 Ultra, helping in visibility under sunlight.

Galaxy S26 Ultra is powered by Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, pushing more performance over 8 Elite on S25 Ultra. It comes in up to 16GB/1TB in terms of RAM/Storage options, while the S25 Ultra topped out at 12GB/1TB. Both S26 Ultra and S25 Ultra have a 5000mAh battery, but S26 Ultra supports 60W wired or 25W wireless charging.

In-terms of Camera, S26 Ultra has a 200MP Main sensor, which offers a wider aperture and 47% more light compared to S25 Ultra, 50MP Ultrawide (compared to 12MP on the S25 Ultra), 10MP 3x and 50 MP 5x Periscope (same as the S25 Ultra). This camera setup allows for Video recording on 8K@30 fps, 4K@120 fps.

Galaxy S26 Ultra brings enhanced cooling of up to 21% higher with a Vapor chamber cooling system.

Samsung went back to an aluminium frame, similar to Apple’s, from titanium. It measures at 7.9 mm thickness, weighs around 215 grams and is protected by Gorilla Glass Victus 2.

S26 Ultra starts at ₹1,39,999 (12/256GB) and goes up to ₹1,89,999 for 16/1TB.
