I have been testing it for about three weeks on a .NET project and various other projects to see how it performs, and since I had a clean project that had a lot of issues and the WPF UI version was pretty old, I gave the GPT 5.3 Codex to upgrade the WPF UI version to the latest, which has a lot of cons, like you may have to rewrite some layers of the code. The migration from the old WPF UI to the latest version took approximately 38 minutes to complete.

I also tested the Codex with Android projects, where its performance was excellent. All my tests were conducted on the Codex extension on Visual Studio Code, which is good, and I have tried the new Codex app, which is impressive and features a more visually appealing design compared to Google’s Antigravity and Terminal Bench 2.0. It manages to outscore its previous generation 5.2 Codex and the latest Opus 4.6 in the benchmark. The 5.3 codex builds with fewer tokens, allowing the users to build more than any prior model.

Security
To help prevent misuse of the model, some requests that their system detects as having a cyber risk will be routed from the 5.3 Codex to GPT 5.2. They are investing in ecosystem safeguards such as expanding the private beta of Aardvark, their security research agent, as the first offering in the suite of Codex security products and tools, and it’s one of the models to identify any software vulnerabilities. While they don’t have evidence that it can automate cyberattacks end-to-end, they are taking a precautionary approach and deploying their most comprehensive cybersecurity stack to date.
